Half man, half wolf, and only once a month?  Sure, why not. It can't be that bad.

This is a list of movies about werewolves.

DVD An American Werewolf in London (1981)
Jenny Agutter, Griffin Dunne, Brian Glover

While wandering the English moors on vacation, college yanks David and Jack happen upon a quaint pub with a mysterious patronage who warn them not to leave the road when walking after dark. Irreverent of such advice as characters in horror films always are, the two decide to find a short cut....David wakes up in the hospital with a nasty bite wound to his shoulder; the freshly deceased, and rapidly decomposing, Jack arrives soon after to deliver the grim news that, unless he commits suicide, David will become a werewolf when the moon is full. David dismisses the encounter as a hallucination, but all indicators point to lycanthrope; evenings of barking and bloodletting follow closely behind.

DVD Bad Moon (1996)

By night he transfigures into a horrific half-human--a werewolf. Writer/Director Eric Red delivers a new infusion of thrills with this roaring red-blooded shocker. Michael Pare portrays Ted hiding his accursed condition from his sister (Mariel Hemingway) and nephew.

DVD The Howling (1981)
Dee Wallace (II), Patrick Macnee, Dennis Dugan

Severely shaken after a near-fatal encounter with a serial killer TV newscaster, Karen White takes some much-needed time off. Hoping to conquer her inner demons she heads for "the Colony", a secluded retreat where her new neighbors are just a tad too eager to make her feel at home. Also, there seems to be a bizarre link between her would-be attacker and this supposedly safe haven. And when after nights of being tormented by savage shrieks and unearthly cries, Karen ventures into the forest to find answers, she makes a terrifying discovery. Now she must fight not only for her life... but for her very soul!

DVD Howling II - Your Sister Is a Werewolf (1986)
Christopher Lee, Annie McEnroe, Reb Brown

After countless millennia of watching, waiting, and stalking the unholy creatures known as werewolves are poised to inherit the earth. Legendary horror icon Christopher Lee faces off against lusty cult favorite Sybil Danning in this terrifying descent into a world of nightmares that turns out to be all too real! After newscaster Karen White's shocking on-screen transformation and violent death (in the original The Howling) her brother Ben (Reb Brown) is approached by Stefan Crosscoe (Lee) a mysterious man who claims that Karen has in fact become a werewolf. But this is the least of their worries... To save mankind Stefan and Ben must travel to Transylvania to battle and destroy Stirba (Danning) the immortal queen of all werewolves before she is restored to her full powers!

DVD Howling III - The Marsupials (1987)
William Yang, Barry Otto, Deby Wightman, Imogen Annesley

Professor Harry Bechmeyer goes searching for a rare breed of werewolf/marsupial in this satirical horror comedy. With his sidekick Professor Sharpe, they find Jerboa, and take her to Sydney to appear in a small role in a horror film. Soon members of her tribe disguised as nuns try and rescue the she-werewolf. Olga Gorki changes into a lupine monster as she pirouettes on the stage of the Sydney Opera House. The feature works as a parody of its two predecessors.

DVD The Howling IV: The Original Nightmare (1988)
Romy Windsor, Michael T. Weiss, Antony Hamilton

This revamped tale involves successful author Marie, who visits the scenic woodland town of Drago to find respite from constant nightmare visions involving werewolves and a mysterious nun. Needless to say, her stay in the village does nothing to dispel the visions, which increase in frequency and seem to suggest strange portents of evil events to come... and a warning to get out of town before the next full moon.

DVD Wolf (1994)
Jack Nicholson, Michelle Pfeiffer

We all know Jack Nicholson can go nuts, but the script makes his character aware of his changes, sometimes for the better, early on.
